My neighbor gave me this rose, and told me his mother acquired her from a man who brought cuttings back from Italy, stuck in a potato. Common Moss is her formal name. Far from common, she's exquisitely fragrant and magnificently beautiful, with silky petals tucked around a tiny button of pale stamens.
